PACKAGING SALES / PRACTICAL GUIDE
Reply to an incomplete packaging inquiry: an email template
Ask for the missing details while keeping the customer reply easy to answer.
Ask for what changes the quote
Choose the missing information that affects the offer: quantity, dimensions, material, printing and delivery destination. Avoid sending a long questionnaire when three answers would allow you to move forward. Tell the customer which details are optional at this stage.

Thank you for your enquiry about [product]. To prepare a quotation, could you confirm: (1) the required quantity, (2) the internal dimensions and unit of measurement, and (3) the delivery country and postcode? If you need logo printing, please also share the number of print colours or an artwork reference. If you are unsure about the material, tell us what the packaging will hold and we can discuss suitable options. We will confirm pricing and timing after reviewing these details.
If you can offer a partial price
Identify the exact assumption behind the price: for example, a stated quantity and standard size without printing. Label it as a product-only draft when freight or customisation remains unresolved. Do not describe an incomplete subtotal as a final delivered price.
Make the next exchange easy
Use a short numbered list and let the customer reply under each item. Keep the source request with the draft. Before sending, check names, units, currency and any implied delivery promise. The sample workspace can organize a supported packaging request; you still review and send the reply yourself.
