Packaging RFQ template: ask for a comparable quote

A copyable request for quotation for custom boxes, bags and pouches.

Start with the finished product

A supplier can quote more clearly when the request describes what you need to receive. Give the product name, intended use, order quantity and internal dimensions. State the unit of measurement. If the box must fit an existing object, include the object dimensions and any insert requirements.

Copy and adapt this enquiry

Hello, we are requesting a quotation for [quantity] [product]. Internal dimensions: [length × width × height, unit]. Material or performance requirements: [details]. Printing: [colours, sides, artwork status]. Inserts or accessories: [details]. Delivery destination: [country and postcode]. Required arrival date: [date or flexibility]. Please state the unit price, currency, minimum order quantity, sample cost, setup charges, production lead time and quoted delivery terms. Please separate freight from the goods price and flag any specification you cannot meet.

Ask suppliers to show their assumptions

If you have not selected a material, ask the supplier to name the material and thickness used in the quotation. A cheaper offer may describe a different construction. Request clarification before comparing the final amounts. Keep the same written specification when contacting additional suppliers.

Turn replies into a reviewable draft

Record confirmed prices separately from unknown charges. Mark sample, artwork, freight and other unresolved details as awaiting confirmation. Quoterove lets you try this separation with a sample packaging catalog. It does not contact suppliers or verify their capabilities.
